Pi Network price rose roughly 1.5% to $0.0918 on Wednesday as attention shifted toward the network’s planned October Mainnet upgrade
The October 16 Protocol 28 rollout could support sentiment, while recent verification fixes allow thousands of affected users to progress. The wider cryptocurrency market gained 0.89% to $2.92 trillion, with Bitcoin price near $85,000 and Ethereum trading around the $2,700 level
Pi Network has completed Protocol 27 on Mainnet and activated Protocol 28 on Testnet, according to the project’s announcement
Node operators must install version 28 by October 13 before the scheduled October 16 Mainnet activation. Pi’s official node page also instructs every Mainnet operator to upgrade, making preparations the immediate priority
The update improves how the network manages delayed transaction data and supports coordinated upgrades across groups of smart contracts. Developers can also modify stored application data more safely as their contracts evolve and applications introduce new functionality
Following the successful completion of the Protocol 27 upgrade on Pi Mainnet, Pi Testnet has upgraded to Protocol 28

These infrastructure changes could strengthen application development, providing one potential catalyst for the Pi Network price in October. That possible benefit depends on adoption and demand, rather than the upgrade date alone
Pi Network says more than 417,000 accounts can resume verification after reviews cleared earlier flags suggesting possible duplicates. Those users must still satisfy remaining checks before completing KYC and Mainnet migration
Separately, the team announced a fix targeting 497,000 Fast-Track wallets blocked from claiming migrated balances because of insufficient gas funds
The September update would also prevent similar problems during future migrations. Pi also expanded device eligibility for liveness checks and improved video processing
Meanwhile, futures open interest rose to $10.57 million from $10.05 million, according to CoinAnk data
To achieve the target of $0.15 on the rise of $0.0918 would mean a rise of about 63.4%. The MACD is below zero yet slightly above its signal line, indicating early recovery as opposed to acceleration which is sustained
The 50-day exponential moving average of the detailed Pi coin price analysis is also at test level at 0.0917, which is a major short-term breakout point
A firm close above that level could bring $0.0990 and $0.1002 into focus. Further resistance stands near the 200-day average at $0.1235 before the proposed $0.15 target
A failed breakout could expose support at $0.0827 of Pi Network price, followed by $0.0801 and the record low of $0.0704
