Officials differed over whether September’s increase was precautionary or more restrictive. The disagreement highlighted uncertainty over how much additional tightening was needed. September forecasts showed 16 of 18 participants anticipated at least one further increase during 2026
Recent futures pricing placed October hike odds below 20%, while investors continued assessing the possibility of a December increase. The minutes offered no firm timetable, leaving the timing of further action unresolved
Total cryptocurrency capitalization declined 3.09% over 24 hours to $2.83 trillion, reflecting widespread losses across major digital assets. Bitcoin price traded below $83,000, Ethereum lost about 5%, and XRP price hovered below $1.42
Coinbase weakened alongside other cryptocurrency equities as these declines reduced confidence across the sector. The synchronized retreat suggested macroeconomic pressures were affecting digital assets and related shares simultaneously
The 30-year Treasury yield reached its highest level since 2002 during Wednesday’s bond selloff. The bond selloff was already underway before the minutes appeared, adding pressure across markets throughout the trading day
Higher yields raised the appeal of interest-bearing assets, while rising oil increased concerns about persistent inflation. A stronger dollar added pressure as investors reduced exposure to speculative investments during the session
The intraday trading pattern is that the first resistance will be around the level of $180, where the previous trading developed a consolidation zone. Any sustained recovery above this point might move the focus to the midday peak of around $180 for the Coinbase stock
The clearing of such peak would reinforce the rebound argument and bring the previous trading area of $182.50 back in perspective
Several lows define the short-term support between $177.50 and $178, and this area is at the center of the short-term perspective
