Ripple (XRP) price is up 3.36% today, October 2, to trade at $1.53 at the time of writing. These gains coincide with a surge in the amount of XRP that whale addresses are withdrawing from exchanges
XRP is not the only crypto that is up today, because Bitcoin (BTC) has also reclaimed $85,000 as the odds of the Fed hiking interest rates in October continue to fall
CryptoQuant analyst Amr Taha noted that the whales holding more than 1 million XRP coins are dominating withdrawals on both the Binance and Coinbase exchanges
The analyst notes that the withdrawals involving more than 1 million XRP increased from 45% in mid-August to 60.8% on September 20
Meanwhile, the withdrawals for the 100K to 1M XRP category dropped from 30% on September 6 to 23.4% on September 30, suggesting that withdrawals on Binance are currently concentrated among whales
On Coinbase, the share of withdrawals in the 1M XRP category increased from 37% in late August to 48.7% on September 30
The rising withdrawals come amid a flurry of bullish developments around XRP. As reported earlier by CoinGape, Evernorth recently received shareholder approval for a merger that will see the XRP treasury company become a publicly listed firm on NASDAQ
XRP also recently surpassed 10 million in x402 AI agentic payments, marking a new milestone for the network
Data from CoinGlass shows that XRP’s open interest on Binance has increased from $553 million on September 29 to $580 million at the time of writing
The same OI reading has also increased from $284 million on September 29 to $314 million on Hyperliquid, suggesting that the speculative demand for XRP on the Binance and Hyperliquid exchanges is rising
The surging OI on Binance is coming from an increase in long accounts, with the long/short reading on the exchange standing at 2.31
XRP’s OI-weighted funding rate has also increased to 0.01%, with this being the highest reading seen since September 23
The four-hour chart for XRP price shows that the price has overcome two main obstacles. The first is the sell wall at $1.51, while the other is the resistance of a falling trendline
The ADX line that is tipping north suggests that the uptrend remains strong even after XRP value overcame this resistance. If the uptrend continues, XRP price could move upwards to collect liquidity at $1.56
The RSI reading of 59 also suggests that the bullish momentum remains dominant
Still, if XRP retests the $1.51 support and it fails to hold, a downtrend could ensue, and the price could drop to test support at $1.48
