Lee made these remarks during Korea Blockchain Week 2026, offering his assessment of the outlook for the cryptocurrency market
Tom Lee, Chairman of Bitmine (BMNR), a DAT company known for its Ethereum accumulation strategy, said that a new bull run has begun in the cryptocurrency market and that the current cycle could be even bigger than previous bull runs
Lee made these remarks during Korea Blockchain Week 2026, offering his assessment of the outlook for the cryptocurrency market. He noted several key factors that could support the current bull market
Tokenization is at the forefront of these developments. According to Lee, efforts to represent real-world assets on the blockchain are attracting far more attention compared to previous crypto bull markets. The widespread adoption of tokenization is seen as one of the developments that could accelerate the integration of blockchain technology with traditional finance
Lee also stated that capital flows linked to intergenerational wealth transfer and increased cryptocurrency purchases by institutional investors could provide new resources to the market
Lee also highlighted digital asset treasury (DAT) companies, arguing that the fact that their capital is not subject to the repayment pressure seen in traditional investment funds could amplify the impact of the new bull market. The ability of these entities to hold crypto assets on their balance sheets for extended periods, in Lee’s view, represents a significant difference in terms of market dynamics
Lee also noted that the increased use of digital currencies by AI agents could support the growth of the crypto ecosystem
Considering these factors together, Lee believes the current crypto bull cycle may be more widespread than in the past. However, this assessment reflects Lee’s market expectations and does not offer any certainty regarding future price performance
