Robinhood (NASDAQ: HOOD) stock is in focus after the Cboe announced that it will launch binary contracts linked to the key performance indicators (KPIs) for multiple companies in October 2026 on the platform
Despite the planned launch, HOOD stock price dropped by 3.2% on September 30 to close trading at $112
In a press release, Cboe Global Markets said that it will roll out KPI binary contracts targeting 23 companies in October 2026. Cboe noted that Robinhood will become the first retail broker to offer the products
The exchange noted that with these binary options, an investor on Robinhood can take a position on a company’s stock based on their performance or events. The products will also be regulated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
“We’re pleased to have Robinhood among our first partners in bringing these SEC-regulated products to its client base,” Cboe’s JJ Kinahan said
The Cboe launch adds to Robinhood’s expanding product suite following the recent expansion into prediction markets through a deal with CryptoCom as earlier reported by CoinGape
Wall Street analysts have flipped bullish on HOOD stock price because of the company’s expansion plans
Morgan Stanley analyst Michael Cyprys notes that Robinhood stock could edge higher after the exchange launched agentic trading and US perpetual futures. The analyst reiterated an overweight rating and a $150 target for HOOD stock
Deutsche Bank has also reiterated a buy rating on Robinhood shares and assigned it a $134 target, while KeyBanc has also raised its target for the shares from $130 to $140 while also attributing the higher rating to the new product suite
An earlier report by CoinGape also noted that Goldman Sachs and Jefferies maintained buy ratings for HOOD stock in September because of the firm’s new product launches
The one-day chart for HOOD stock shows that the price created one of its biggest red candles on September 30, after the launch of the Cboe KPI binary options and other products turned out to be a sell-the-news event
HOOD stock is now facing support at the 61.8% Fib of $110. If the shares close below this support, the price might fall lower to the psychological support at $100
The CMF line that has turned negative confirms that the selling pressure is currently outpacing the selling pressure, and this is fuelling the downtrend
The AO bars that are red and negative also suggest that bulls are losing their grip despite the optimism by Wall Street analysts
Still, HOOD stock price was up slightly during after-hours trading at the time of writing. A rebound after the September 30 decline could push it to the 78.7% Fib level of $117
