Bitcoin Price to Reach $90K in October? Polymarket Sets Odds at 60%

ETFS

Polymarket traders give a 59.5% chance that bitcoin touches $90,000 before October ends, and a 49.5% chance that it drops to $80,000

Key TakeawaysPolymarket priced bitcoin’s chance of touching $90,000 in October at 59.5% on Oct. 2, 2026.US spot bitcoin ETFs added a net $102.7 million on Oct. 1, led by Blackrock’s IBIT at $195.6 million. The Crypto Fear and Greed Index readw 72, so traders will watch whether the $80,000 dip market keeps rising. The Contract Polymarket’s odds stand at 56% for a contract that says bitcoin will be “above $90,000 this month”. By early this morning, the price on that contract had risen to 59.5 cents (or 59.5%) but has since dipped again

That said, Polymarket’s October price market doesn’t ask whether bitcoin finishes the month above $90,000; it resolves “Yes” if any single one-minute Binance BTC/USDT candle prints a high of $90,000 or more between the first and last day of October. One brief wick is enough

The October event has already drawn about $880,000 in volume across its price levels and one level has already settled; i.e. “Will Bitcoin reach $85,000 in October?” has already resolved Yes after bitcoin’s push past that mark

Read top to bottom, the contracts show a fairly balanced market

Bitcoin’s price is currently hovering near $85,500, up about 2.1% over 24 hours, as institutional money has come back. To elaborate, US spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) took in a net $102.7 million on Oct. 1. Blackrock’s IBIT pulled in $195.6 million while Fidelity’s FBTC lost $60.7 million

That reversed a rough end to September, when bitcoin ETFs lost $149 million in a single session. Short sellers paid for the bounce, with about $102 million in short positions liquidated across crypto over 24 hours

Wall Street leaned up too, with Citi setting a $113K 12-month target and expecting $5 billion of crypto ETF inflows. The desk’s own October preview argued that $95K is back in play

Sentiment is stretched at the moment and the Crypto Fear and Greed Index reads 72 as of today (after logging a reading of 74 the day before). It has stayed in the “Greed” territory every day since at least Sept. 23

The recent range also argues for patience as bitcoin has closed each day between roughly $83,500 and $86,600 over the past ten days, and every push toward the top has faded so far. The Bitcoin.com News desk wrote earlier this week that bitcoin’s price gave back a short-lived pump to $85,500. Bitfinex analysts have also listed 17 macro catalysts on October’s calendar, and any of them could shake a market that has run on leverage before

Lastly, longer-dated markets are being more cautious, as earlier this week, Kalshi gave bitcoin only a 34% chance of hitting $100,000 at any point in 2026
